I’m always looking for inexpensive and simple projects that will draw your eye to a particular spot in my gardens. Last year I inherited an abundance of clay pots that have had me searching for interesting ways to upcycle them into something creative and useful.
I managed to use a few recently by building a new bird bath and a butterfly puddling spot for the wildlife in the yard. Of course the dogs think the new bird bath is a water bowl and the puddling dish is where I leave them slices of fruit!
Wondering what a butterfly puddling spot is? Butterflies drink from wet sand as a way to take in additional salts and minerals they don’t receive from plant nectar. I threw in a couple of rocks for them to land on and a bright orange slice of citrus to lure them in.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures of my garden as much as I do!
