While I enjoy many of the different plants and flowers in my yard each day, caladiums are by far my favorite. Their heart shaped leaves and coloring remind me of Valentine’s day, Easter and Mother’s day year round. At least here in South Florida I can grow them year round! This year I purchased and planted 200 mixed bulbs from Classic Caladiums and have been patiently waiting for each to reveal their colors.
Caladiums are tropical plants originally found in the South American Rainforest. They have been cultivated in Europe and America since the late 1800’s . It is now estimated that 98% of all caladium production occurs in Central Florida. Lake Placid even celebrates the Caladium Festival each year! – Honey, what are we doing in July?
